Amit Shah attacks Sonia Gandhi in Raebareli

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday, 27 August, said the countdown for the corrupt and AIMIM-supported BRS government led by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao in Telangana had started as the Assembly elections were fast approaching.

Addressing the Raithu Gosa-BJP Bharosa public meeting organised at SR and BGNR Grounds in the Khammam district, he said that it was the people of Telangana — especially the youth — who fought against “razakars”.

However, Chandrashekar Rao shattered their aspirations by sitting with AIMIM president Asaddudin Owaisi and “razakars”, he added.

It was Chandrashekar who completely ignored celebrating the Hyderabad Liberation Day on 17 September to mark the 75 years of the merger of Hyderabad state with Indian Union as his steering was with Owaisi, he said.

Confident of a BJP government

He exuded confidence that the BJP would form the government in Telangana with full majority as Chandrashekar Rao’s government would collapse after the Assembly elections.

Shah said the Sri Sita Ramachandra Temple in Bhadrachalam was considered as South Ayodhya, and Sri Bhakta Ramadas was sent to prison by the Nizams for constructing the temple.

He added that later a tradition of offering silk clothes (pattu vastralu) to the goddess Sri Rama and Sita Devi during the celestial wedding was observed on account of the Sri Rama Navami festival every year.

But Chandrashekar Rao, after coming to power, ignored the tradition and stopped visiting the temple as his party’s election symbol — the car — would only go to Bhadrachalam but not to the temple because the car steering was with Owaisi, contended Amit Shah in Khammam.

“Don’t worry, Chandrashekar Rao. There is no need for you to go to the temple. The chief minister from the BJP will restart the tradition and visit the temple during the Sri Rama Navami festival,” Shah said.

Since the car’s steering was with Owaisi, the people should not allow KCR to become the chief minister and his son and Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao, said Shah, adding that the next chief minister of Telangana would be elected under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

‘4G, 3G and 2G parties’

The Union home minister said the Congress meant 4G (Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi), the BRS meant 2G (Chandrashekar Rao and KT Rama Rao) and the AIMIM meant 3G. He said the BJP was the only peoples’ party and there were no 4Gs, 2Gs, and 3Gs.

Accusing Chandrashekar Rao of failing to implement various promises, especially houses to the poor and unemployment doles, for the last nine years, he said the Congress at the Centre allocated only ₹1.2 lakh crore but the BJP government allocated ₹7 lakh crore for the benefit of farmers.

It was the Modi government that increased MSP to 66 percent, he claimed.

Referring to the statements made by All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Mallikarjun Kharge during a public meeting in Chevella on Saturday, he said the former told lies and misled the people. He made it clear that the BJP would fight against KCR and Owaisi in the state.

“Will the BJP go with the BRS or Owaisi?” he asked people.

“The BJP will not share the dais with Owaisi and both the Congress and the BRS are doing ‘ilu-ilu’,” he said, seeking to know whether Chandrashekar brought sufficient funds from the Centre when he was a Union minister during the UPA’s tenure.

More allegations

Listing out funds allocated for Telangana by the Union government for constructing toilets, and giving gas connections and 5 kg rice for the poor, he described Chandrashekar Rao’s government as anti-farmer, women, youth and Dalit.

He said that it was high time that people dethrone him in the upcoming elections.

Amit Shah came to Khammam in an army helicopter from Gannavaram Airport in Vijayawada. Before arriving at the public meeting venue, he took blessings of Sri Venkateswara Swamy in Tirupati and Sri Stambhadri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy in Khammam.

The Khammam district turned saffron with a large number of party activists turning up for the meeting. The BJP flags, buntings and posters greeted the participants all along the roads connecting the meeting venue.

After addressing a public meeting, Shah interacted with senior BJP leaders in Khammam in a core committee meeting and discussed the strategy to be adopted for the upcoming Assembly elections and the list of candidates to be prepared for contesting the elections.

He made it clear to the leaders that the party should come to power in Telangana at any cost and asked them to make preparations accordingly.
