Synopsis: In Thursday’s news wrap of Telangana— Two thieves were arrested at Secunderabad and Chirala stations, with stolen items seized. Meanwhile, a building collapse in Bhadrachalam killed three, with rescue teams working to locate more victims.
The Railway Protection Force and Government Railway police apprehended two thieves at the Chirala and Secunderabad stations.
At Secunderabad, the police seized a stolen mobile and cash. Meanwhile, the police seized three mobile phones worth ₹74,000 at Chirala.
A six-story under-construction building collapsed in Bhadrachalam town, Bhadradri Kothagudem, on Wednesday, 26 March, leaving 3 to 6 laborers feared trapped under the debris.
Police and rescue teams have rushed to the site and launched a rescue operation to locate those trapped.
Locals suspect poor construction materials may have contributed to the collapse, while others blame faulty engineering for the disaster. Eyewitnesses report that the building suddenly crumbled with a loud noise, causing panic in the area.
BRS MLA KTR pledged his commitment to organ donation on the floor of the Telangana Legislative Assembly. The announcement came during discussions on the Telangana Transplantation of Human Organs Bill, a significant piece of legislation aimed at regulating and promoting organ donation in the state.
Addressing the Assembly, KTR emphasized the importance of raising awareness about organ donation and urged fellow legislators to lead by example. “As representatives of the people, it is our duty to foster awareness and inspire citizens to embrace this noble cause,” he said.
KTR proposed that a special initiative be launched within the Assembly to encourage MLAs to register as organ donors. “If members are willing, let us initiate a signature drive right here in the Assembly,” he suggested. True to his word, KTR announced that he would be the first to sign up for organ donation, calling it a “profound humanitarian act that can save countless lives.”
