In a significant boost to Telangana’s global investment prospects, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and McDonald’s Chairman & CEO, Chris Kempczinski, finalized a landmark partnership that will see the multinational fast-food giant expanding its operations in the state.
Under the partnership, McDonald’s will set up its Global Office for India in Hyderabad, a decision based on the city’s quality talent pool, superior infrastructure, and high standard of living, surpassing cities like Bengaluru. The office is expected to begin with 2,000 employees.
The collaboration will also lead to the establishment of a Global Capability Center (GCC) in the state, with McDonald’s aiming to leverage Telangana’s skilling initiatives to train human resources not only for their operations in India but also for its global centres.
Highlighting the state’s agricultural strengths, CM Revanth Reddy proposed sourcing McDonald’s food requirements from local farmers, which would provide a major boost to Telangana’s agricultural economy and improve farmers’ incomes. McDonald’s has 38 outlets in Telangana and plans to open 3-4 new outlets every year, expanding into tier-two and tier-three towns.
Chris Kempczinski also expressed McDonald’s commitment to contributing to the state’s community development programs and expressed a desire to deepen these efforts in collaboration with the Telangana government.
The agreement, which promises thousands of direct and indirect job opportunities for the state’s youth, underscores Telangana’s emerging position as a hub for multinational corporations and global investments.
