Telangana leopard entered hetero pharma factory on 16 December.

In a spine-chilling incident, a leopard was spotted on Saturday, 17 December in a pharmaceutical factory in Telangana.

The incident took place at the Hetero drugs limited in the Gadda Potharam Industrial Area of the Sangareddy district.

The leopard was moved out of the factory around 4 pm on Saturday and shifted to the Nehru Zoological Park.

What happened?

As per reports, the leopard entered the factory some time on Friday evening and spent the entire night there.

It created panic among the staff present at the factory premises.

The security officials at the factory spotted the leopard and informed the Forest Department officials, who swung into action.

According to the visuals doing rounds on social media, the leopard could be seen trying to get out of the enclosed premises of the factory while factory workers watched it through the glass windows.

The forest officials requested the Nehru Zoological Park to send an expert team to rescue the leopard, who verified the CCTV footage and determined that the animal was trapped in a false-ceiling roof.

Not the first time

As per the Forest Department officials, the big cat was forced to come out of its hiding place due to the use of pressured water. After the leopard came out, it was sedated with tranquilliser darts.

The official further said the Chief Wildlife Warden would decide where to finally set the leopard free.

It was shifted to the Nehru Zoological Park, where it has been kept in quarantine. A decision to relocate it would be taken afterwards.

Meanwhile, this is not the first time a leopard has strayed into the factory in Telangana. In April this year, a leopard was recorded in the factory in the CCTV footage.

As per sources, wild cats from the Narsapur forest, which is in the Sangareddy and Medak districts, have strayed into human settlements.

Last month, a leopard killed two calves near Nathnaipally in Narsapur block in Telangana, which lies close to the Hetero factory.
