Synopsis: Telangana Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy has written to Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, requesting an inquiry into the sudden death of film producer Kedar Selagamsetty. Reddy expressed concerns over speculations regarding the cause of death, and allegations involving BRS party leaders. Telangana CM Revanth Reddy also raised questions about Kedar’s death and its possible connection to the drugs case investigation.

Telangana Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy has written to Union Minister G Kishan Reddy seeking an inquiry into the death of film producer Kedar Selagamsetty.

The producer of Anand Deverakonda starrer Gam Gam Ganesha and Kedar died in his sleep on 25 February. He had reportedly attended a party on 24 February and, returned to his apartment in Dubai early on the next day and went to bed. He was an accused in a drugs case, registered in Hyderabad in 2024.

In the letter addressed to Kishan Reddy, the MP noted, “His sudden and untimely death has raised several doubts and concerns among the film fraternity and the public. Various speculations are being made regarding the circumstances of his death, and there is an increasing demand for a thorough and impartial investigation into the matter.”

Allegations on BRS

Further training guns at the Opposition BRS, he pointed out, “There are serious allegations and suspicions regarding the involvement of some key BRS party leaders who are close associates and some important leaders been in Dubai on these dates, also last 10 years BRS leaders who have involved in irrigation/real estate scams looting Telangana state have invested money in Dubai through late Kedar Babu as per the sources.”

Demanding an inquiry, the letter read, “These allegations demand an urgent, high-level inquiry to uncover the truth. Given the political sensitivity and the public interest in this matter, a fair and transparent investigation is crucial to ensure that justice is served and that those responsible, if any, are held accountable.”

“In light of these concerns, I sincerely request you to initiate an enquiry through central agencies, being in Central Cabinet hailing from Telangana, witnessing last 10-year rule and misuse of state resources a detailed and independent probe into this case at the earliest. Ensuring a proper investigation will help address public apprehensions and uphold trust in the system.”

CM Revanth raises concerns

Earlier, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy too had raised similar concerns. During an informal media interaction in Delhi on Wednesday, 27 February, the chief minister mentioned the death of Kedar Selagamsetty.

Revanth Reddy alleged that Kedar was close to BRS working president KT Rama Rao and his business partner, though he did not specify the business.

The chief minister questioned whether Kedar’s death had anything to do with the authorities speeding up the investigation into the drugs case in Hyderabad.

Revanth Reddy also questioned KTR’s silence on Kedar’s death and why he was not demanding an inquiry into it, suggesting that there might be more to the incident than meets the eye.

Revanth Reddy also has raised concerns about the death of advocate Ganta Sajiva Reddy, who died of a heart attack last year in Hanamkonda, and social activist N Rajalinga Murthy, who was brutally murdered in Bhupalpally on 19 February.
