Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, marking the launch of Vanamahotsavam-2025, pledged to allocate 60 Assembly seats to women in the next elections, following the upcoming delimitation process.
“Women’s reservation is coming soon in the assembly elections. I will take the responsibility of giving 60 MLA seats to women in the next elections,” he said.
The Chief Minister also highlighted his government’s women-centric development initiatives.
From giving women ownership of 1,000 RTC buses to encouraging them to run solar plants and schools, the state aims to make one crore women millionaires.
“We have already extended ₹21,000 crores in loans to women’s groups this year,” he noted, urging women in urban areas to join self-help groups and step into leadership roles in both the economy and society.
The event, themed around environmental stewardship, also saw the announcement of a major green initiative – a target to plant 18 crore saplings across Telangana this year.
Calling on citizens to treat trees like family, Revanth said, “If we protect nature, nature will protect us.” He urged every household to plant at least two saplings – one in the name of ‘Amma’ and another for their children.
