Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao inaugurates BRS central office in New Delhi

The BRS has crossed yet another milestone. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao inaugurated the party’s central office in Vasant Vihar in New Delhi at the auspicious time of 1.05 pm on Thursday, 4 May.

For the party, it signified that it had changed gears to look at possibilities of crafting a credible coalition of anti-BJP forces ahead of the general elections in 2014.

The chief minister, who is already in overdrive after unveiling the 125-foot-high Ambedkar statue and an ultra-modern state Secretariat in Hyderabad named after the architect of the Constitution, drove to the party office immediately after he arrived in the national capital.

By then, preparations were already on, with Vedic scholars performing homams and chanting hymns to invoke the blessing of God for KCR’s mission to be successful.

After arrival, the BRS chief took part in the pooja and the accompanying rituals. He offered special prayers to Goddess Durga Matha.

Then he unveiled a plaque symbolising the inauguration of the party building and then hoisted the party’s flag.

Later, the BRS supremo was ushered into his chamber on the first floor of the building. As the priests chanted hymns, the Telangana chief minister occupied the chair and took charge of the activities to be conducted from there.

He then indulged in lighthearted banter with party leaders, including ministers KT Rama Rao, V Prashanth Reddy, V Srinivas Goud, MPs K Kesahva Rao, B Venatesh Netha, and J Santhosh Kumar.

The inauguration of the building marked the shifting of the office which was functioning from a private building on Sardar Patel Marg.

KCR performed bhoomi-pooja for the Vasant Vihar building on 2 September, 2021.

The building is four storeys tall, occupies 11,000 sqft of area, and has 20 rooms, according to reports.

A canteen, reception lobby and 4 chambers for the general secretaries are built on the ground floor while the chambers of KCR and other leaders and conference halls are established on the first floor.

‘Moment of pride’

KCR’s daughter and MLC Kavitha Kalvakuntla, in a tweet, said that it was a moment of pride for the untiring soldier of the pink party, implying KCR.

“If the party has reached the pinnacle of glory today, it was because of KCR’s foresight, perseverance, and dedication to the cause he was espousing,” she said.

The BRS leader said that the party which took birth to fight for a separate Telangana state, had fought its way forward despite vicissitudes and reached its goal.

The state was now moving rapidly on the road to development, she said adding that the party was shining at the national level with nine Lok Sabha and seven Rajya Sabha MPs, and 105 MLAs.
