Security personnel posted at the Telangana BJP headquarters at Nampally were on their toes in the early hours of 26 March when some miscreants sprayed blue colour liquid at the office’s main gate and fled the premises.

In a complaint given to the Abids Assistant Commissioner of Police on Wednesday, 29 March, the BJP office secretary Dr B Umashanker said that the security personnel were on duty at the main entrance gate when a couple of miscreants, who came on two motorbikes, sprayed a blue-coloured liquid on the gate.

On seeing this, the security guards raised an alarm and tried to catch the miscreants but they sped away. The surveillance cameras installed at the BJP office main gate and within the premises of the party office captured images of the miscreants.

“It is not known whether any harmful liquids or powders are mixed in the colour sprayed to cause harm to anyone. The traces of colour sprayed can still be observed on the main gate as well as on the tiles inside our premises,” he said.

“We suspect the incident is an act of sabotage by elements inimical to our party, and to avoid any such acts in the future, we request you to kindly identify the miscreants and their intentions behind the said act, and take suitable punitive action as per law,” Umashanker urged.

Following the incident, the party has stepped up security in coordination with the police to prevent any untoward incidents in future.
