BJP MP Eatala Rajendar slaps real estate broker over land encroachment issue in Telangana
A video of BJP Malkajgiri MP Eatala Rajendar slapping a real estate broker has gone viral, sparking debates over highhandedness of politicians and land encroachment in the Pocharam Municipality’s Ekashila Nagar area.
The video shows Rajendar slapping a man instigating similar behaviour from others around him. In a flash, several people assaulted the man that Rajendar had slapped, turning the situation into an example of mob violence.
The incident unfolded after locals in the area raised concerns with the MP about a real estate broker allegedly harassing them by encroaching on their lands.
In response, Eatala Rajendar called a meeting with the broker to address the accusations. However, tensions escalated quickly. In the viral video, the BJP MP is seen slapping the real estate agent, followed by his supporters and other onlookers grabbing and reportedly thrashing the individual.
The footage, which has since spread across social media platforms, shows the MP visibly angered by the broker’s actions and the distress of the local residents and indulging in violence in clear violation of law.

Eatala Rajendar claimed that the situation had arisen due to land disputes in the Narapalli and Korremula villages, where poor residents had purchased plots and built homes in 1985.
The issue began when 149 acres of unused land in the area were resold multiple times, leading to disputes over rightful ownership.
The real estate broker at the center of the controversy is accused of acquiring these lands and selling them to wealthy investors, disregarding the claims of the original, impoverished owners.
Eatala Rajendar said, “Hundreds of complaints were filed at the police station. As there was no action, they (locals) approached me, hence, I asked them to set up a tent for a program. I assured them I would be there with officials.”
“He (the broker) threatened the locals. He is not a realtor but a ‘gunda’. People were revolting, hence I joined them. I reached there and noticed him along with ‘gundas’ partying. After a heated argument, I slapped him. Wherever law fails, I have to be there,” the MP said, defending his actions.
