The delegation led by Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy focused more on showcasing the state's long-term vision and policy direction.

Global cosmetics behemoth L’Oreal will set up the world’s first beauty-tech Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Hyderabad, the Telangana Rising delegation said in Davos, Switzerland.
The delegation, comprising Telangana ministers, top officials and business leaders, is in the Alpine town in connection with the World Economic Forum (WEF).
Announcing L’Oreal’s plan to establish the beauty-tech GCC in Hyderabad, the delegation said it will be inaugurated in November. The setting up of the centre was confirmed at the delegation’s meeting with the cosmetics major’s Chief Executive Officer, Nicolas Hieronimus.
The beauty-tech GCC will function as a global hub for innovation, technology, data, and supply chain operations, supporting L’Oréal’s worldwide digital transformation, AI, and analytics initiatives.
“Tech solutions developed in Hyderabad will be deployed across our facilities globally,” Hieronimus said, while inviting Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Minister D Sridhar Babu to the inauguration.
Minister Babu assured the company of the government’s full support. He pitched Telangana as a leading GCC destination, not just in med-tech and health-tech, but also in emerging niches like beauty-tech.
He pointed out that several global majors have already chosen Hyderabad for their GCC operations.
Special Chief Secretary for ITE&C and Industries, Sanjay Kumar, invited the company to explore manufacturing opportunities in Telangana, citing the state’s robust ecosystem and infrastructure.
Hieronimus said L’Oréal would consider future manufacturing investments in Hyderabad, signalling the possibility of deeper engagement beyond the GCC.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s proposal to hold an annual WEF follow-up meet in Hyderabad received a positive response.
Addressing global business leaders and policymakers at the high-profile ‘Join The Rise’ event hosted by the ‘Telangana Rising’ delegation, Revanth Reddy said that waiting a full year between WEF meets is no longer suited to modern business cycles.
He proposed a mid-year WEF follow-up forum in Hyderabad, suggesting July or August as the ideal window. The proposal drew unanimous support from the gathering.
“One year is a very long time in today’s fast-moving investment environment. I request you to join me in making a July WEF Forum in Hyderabad a reality,” he said.
Revanth Reddy said Telangana’s engagement with WEF 2026 was less about signing memoranda and more about showcasing its long-term vision and policy direction, following the resounding success of the Telangana Rising Global Summit held in December 2o25.
The summit, hosted at the upcoming Bharat Future City, attracted investment commitments worth over ₹5.75 lakh crore.
The state unveiled two major initiatives at Davos: the Telangana AI Innovation Hub (TAIH) and the Telangana Next-Gen Life Sciences Policy 2026-2030, aligning them with its roadmap for growth up to 2047.
Ministers Sridhar Babu and Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, part of the delegation, detailed the government’s game-changer projects, including road infrastructure upgrades, metro rail expansion, river and lake rejuvenation, new economic zones, and large-scale manufacturing clusters aimed at positioning Telangana as a strong China+1 alternative.
Focusing on Hyderabad’s evolution into a global GCC hub, the chief minister said the city now hosts a wide spectrum of multinational capability centres and is being developed as India’s first truly 24-hour city, with a strong night-time economy planned along both banks of the River Musi.
“We are building a completely new city — smart, future-ready, and India’s answer to the best in the world. Bharat Future City will span over 30,000 acres, with more than 50 per cent retained as green cover,” he said.
The evening also had a touch of star power, with actor Chiranjeevi emerging as a special attraction at a dinner event.
