A delegation led by south zone in-charge and national media head Vijay Mallangi was stopped by police from inspecting the wards.
The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) Telangana unit on Monday, 21 September, said it would launch an agitation in Warangal if the new Super Speciality Hospital building near the MGM Hospital was not completed and opened to patients by 31 December.
The warning came a day after concrete from the ceiling of a ward at the hospital fell and injured three patients. A CJP delegation led by south zone in-charge and national media head Vijay Mallangi visited the hospital on Monday and sought to inspect the condition of its wards.
Police stopped the delegation from inspecting the wards, leading to a brief standoff. The CJP leaders were also denied meetings with Warangal Collector Satya Sarada, State medical and health department principal secretary Christina Z Chongthu and the hospital superintendent, though the officials were on the hospital premises, the party said.

Mallangi said the hospital administration should be held accountable for Sunday’s incident and questioned why checks had not been carried out despite the visibly deteriorating condition of some wards.
He said the government should identify hazards in hospital buildings in advance rather than act only after patients were injured.
The CJP Telangana unit demanded a full safety inspection of the existing MGM Hospital structures and repairs wherever necessary. It also sought an official inquiry into Sunday’s incident and better treatment for the three injured patients.
Mallangi called for the work on the new Super Speciality Hospital building to be expedited. He said the CJP would organise a “Maha Dharna” in Warangal if the building was not operational by the end of the year.
He appealed to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to give existing government hospitals the same attention as new ones.
Patient safety, he said, was a basic obligation and not something to be addressed after an incident.
