Synopsis: Telangana ACB arrested two Secunderabad Tahsildar officials for demanding Rs 3 lakh over a property notice, catching them with Rs 1 lakh. In a separate incident, a TGSPDCL engineer was trapped accepting Rs 20,000 of a Rs 40,000 bribe for sanctioning an agricultural transformer.

The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested two officials on Tuesday, 18 November, from the Secunderabad Tahsildar office for allegedly demanding a ₹3 lakh bribe.

The accused — mandal surveyor Kaluva Kiran Kumar and chainman Mekala Bhaskar — sought the money to refrain from adverse action on a notice issued against the complainant’s property.

They were trapped while accepting ₹1 lakh as the initial instalment, Siasat reported.

Meanwhile, in a separate case, ACB also nabbed TGSPDCL assistant engineer (operations) Narva Harshavardhan Reddy from the Gopalpet section, Wanaparthy circle.

Reddy had demanded ₹40,000 to sanction a distribution transformer for an agricultural field and was caught accepting ₹20,000 as part payment.

The ACB has urged citizens to report any public servant demanding bribes for official duties.
