Synopsis: Telangana ACB arrested lineman Prabhu Lal red-handed at a Pedda Amberpet tiffin centre, accepting a ₹6,000 bribe for releasing electricity meter service numbers in Abdullapurmet. Bribe recovered; he was produced before Nampally ACB Court.
The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Telangana nabbed a line inspector from the Electricity Department for demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹6,000 to perform official duties.
According to a Telangana Today report, the lineman, Prabhu Lal, attached to the Assistant Engineer (Operations) office in Pedda Amberpet, was caught red-handed by the ACB at a tiffin centre while receiving the bribe of ₹6,000.
Prabhu Lal had demanded the sum from an person in exchange for issuing service numbers for new electricity meters fitted at an apartment in Abdullapurmet.
The bribe money was recovered from Prabhu Lal’s possession. He was arrested and presented before the ACB Court in Nampally.
