Bandi Sanjay reacts

Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Tuesday night criticised the police for registering the case against his son in connection with the incident.

At a hurriedly called press conference in New Delhi, he said he was ready to hand over his son to the police, who could also use third-degree interrogation techniques on him.

It was the responsibility of the police to first call the parents and counsel a child before registering a case under non-bailable sections, he said.

With the registration of the case against his son, the Telangana government wanted to derive political mileage out of it, he said.

“We are ready to face any consequence,” said Sanjay, recalling that he was one among the several persons who strongly condemned the unnecessary remarks made against the family members of the ruling party leaders.
