A violent altercation broke out between Congress and BJP cadres outside the BJP’s Nampally office in Hyderabad around 12:30 PM today, 7 January, following controversial remarks made by BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri.
Bidhuri had earlier stirred controversy with his comment, “I will make roads like Priyanka Gandhi’s cheeks,” which sparked outrage among Congress supporters.
The clash resulted in minor injuries to three individuals, with one bleeding slightly. However, there were no major injuries reported. Police arrived at the scene promptly, with DCP, ACP, and other officers managing to bring the situation under control.
ABIDS Inspector Emmanuel confirmed to South First that seven people have been detained, and authorities are working to identify others involved in the incident.
In response to the violence, BJP National General Secretary Bandi Sanjay Kumar condemned the attack on the party office, posting on X (formerly Twitter), “Congress goons, don’t you dare lay a finger on the BJP office! If BJP cadres choose to act, we can uproot the very foundations of your Congress party office.”
He added, “Our office is a sacred space where women and others work tirelessly. What if they were injured? We won’t be intimidated by Congress rowdyism and demand the immediate arrest of the goons responsible!”
