Hyderabad engineer Kota Radha was allegedly murdered in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh

The Andhra Pradesh police are yet to arrest the only suspect even two days after a 35-year-old woman was found dead on the intervening night of 17 and 18 May under suspicious circumstances at the Veligandla mandal in the Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh.

The woman, identified as software engineer Kota Radha, was a native of the Bachupally area in the Medchal-Malkajgiri district of Telangana.

This comes barely weeks after Aishwarya Thatikonda, a 26-year-old engineer from Hyderabad was among nine people killed on 6 May, in a mass shooting in Texas in the US.

In that case, the accused — who died when in the same mass-shooting incident — opened fire outside the crowded Allen Outlets Premium mall.

Suspect absconding

The Andhra Pradesh police are now looking for a suspect named Kashi Reddy, who owed money to Radha and her husband Kota Mohan Reddy — also a software engineer, but he hailed from Kodada in the Nalgonda district of Telangana.

“Kashi Reddy took around ₹15 lakh from them. He called to meet Radha that night. She was found murdered at around 1 am on 18 May,” a sub-inspector from the Veligandla police station told South First.

Radha reportedly came to her native Jillelapadu village on 15 May to celebrate Chowdeshwari festival with her family.

The cop added that Reddy wanted to talk about the money he had borrowed from her during the meeting.

She also informed her parents that Kashi asked her to come to Kanigiri town for discussions, and left home.

However, when she did not return home even till late in the night, her family lodged a complaint with the Veligandla police.

“We traced Radha’s mobile phone location and found it at an isolated place near Jillelapadu crossroads,” the cops said.

On reaching at the spot, the cops found the blood-soaked body of Radha.

Family alleges argument

As per reports, Radha’s family told the police that they suspected an argument might have broken out between the two, during which an enraged Kashi killed Radha to evade the repayment of the money he borrowed from her.

“At the moment, Kashi Reddy is our only suspect. We have formed a special team to track down the suspect and arrest him. He is likely to be arrested in the next 24 hours,” the aforementioned sub-inspector said.

The Veligandla police have registered a case under IPC Section 302 (murder) in this regard.

Radha is survived by her husband Mohan and two children.
