Besides flagging off the Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express, the prime minister has several development projects lined up.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will either dedicate or perform bhoomi puja for more than ₹11,000 crore worth of projects in Telangana during his to Hyderabad on 8 April, said Union Tourism G Kishan Reddy on Sunday, 2 April.
Apart from flagging off the Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express from the Secunderabad railway station, he has several other development projects lined up.
This is the 13th Vande Bharat train to be introduced in the country. The travel time between Secunderabad and Tirupati, which is close to 12 hours, is expected to decrease to 8.5 hours.
The Vande Bharat train services are expected to be convenient for those travelling from Hyderabad to the spiritual city of Tirupati.
The total value of the projects will be ₹11,355 crore in Telangana, said Kishan Reddy.
The prime minister is expected to perform the bhoomi puja for the redevelopment and modernisation of the Secunderabad Railway Station in accordance with international standards at a cost of ₹715 crore.
This will include facilities to cater to the needs of passengers for another 40 years and will be able to seamlessly accommodate peak hour traffic of 25,000 passengers and close to 3.25 lakh passengers during surges.
Other works include modernising the station to international standards by increasing the station building area to 61,912 sqm from the current area of 11,427 sqm.
The station will also have an exclusive 108m double-level air concourse connecting the terminal building and all platforms.
As a part of the redevelopment plan, direct connectivity to Secunderabad East and West metro stations and Rathifile bus station is also envisaged.
Multilevel car parking towards the north terminal and segregation of departure and arrival passengers are some of the other features that will be part of the new station.

Modi is also expected to dedicate to the nation the doubling works completed on the Secunderabad-Mahabubnagar railway line at a cost of ₹1,410 crore.
The prime minister will also launch 13 new MMTS (Multi-Modal Transport System) Phase-II services as part of the MMTS Phase-II doubling works on the Bolarum-Medchal and Falaknuma-Umdanagar routes.
Modi will perform the bhoomi puja for half a dozen national highway projects to be constructed at an estimated cost of ₹7,864 crore.
He will perform bhoomi puja for various development works to be undertaken at AIIMS-Bibinagar at a cost of ₹1,366 crore.
At Secunderabad railway station, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the Vande Bharat train that will run between Secunderabad and Tirupati, followed by addressing a meeting at Parade Grounds.
