Synopsis: Investigators said a diary and a letter titled “Mission Don” were seized from the teenager’s house, outlining plans for thefts inspired by Netflix shows.
A 14-year-old boy in Hyderabad has been arrested by Kukatpally police for allegedly murdering a 10-year-old neighbour over a cricket bat.
The girl was found dead in her house on 18 August with nearly 20 stab wounds. It was her father who discovered her lying in a pool of blood.
According to police, the teen, a Class 10 student, jumped over the wall into the victim’s house to steal a cricket bat belonging to her brother.
He was caught red-handed by the victim who raised an alarm in response to the theft attempt. Seeing this, the accused panicked and pushed the victim to a nearby bed, where he brutally stabbed her repeatedly with knife.
“On Monday, the girl was home alone as she had a holiday,” an official said, adding that the girl had spotted him during the robbery attempt and raised an alarm. The girl tried to stop the accused by holding his shirt, following which the latter got angry and stabbed her, reported PTI.
The accused later washed the murder weapon in the basin and fled.
