There were seven MPs in the fray in the Telangana Assembly election — three each from the BJP and the Congress, and one from the BRS — and three of them will be regretting their decision.

All the three who bit the dust were from the BJP.

Three BJP MPs in the fray were: Nizamabad MP Arvind Dharmapuri contesting as MLA from Koratla, Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar from Karimnagar Assembly seat, and Adilabad MP Soyam Bapu Rao from the Boath segment.

Of course, Revanth Reddy came in third in Kamareddy, where he had filed his nomination to take on BRS supremo and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. The high profile match was not to be, as it was the BJP’s K Venkata Ramana Reddy who was all set to seal the contest at the time of writing this report.

The lone BRS MP on the fray was Kotha Prabhakar Reddy of Medak who was contesting the election from Dubbaka. According to Election Commission of India (ECI), was ahead by 53,585 over hos nearest BJP rival M Raghunandan Rao at the end of 18 of the 19 rounds of counting.
