A month after his arrest in a bribery case, Keesara Police Inspector and Station House Officer (SHO) Arkapally Anjaneyulu is facing a disproportionate assets case, with the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) estimating his assets at Rs 2.28 crore.
The case was registered by the ACB’s City Range-1 unit. On October 17, the agency searched Anjaneyulu’s house and office, along with four other premises linked to his relatives and associates.
During the raids, investigators found documents related to several properties, including two 150-square-yard plots with an old house at Lingojiguda in Saroornagar, valued at Rs 30 lakh. An old 240-square-yard house in CR Enclave, Mansoorabad, is estimated at around Rs 40 lakh, while an under-construction house on a 180-square-yard plot in Perur village is valued at Rs 50 lakh.
Two acres of farmland at Haliya in Miryalaguda are valued at Rs 80 lakh. Investigators also learnt that he had purchased more agricultural land in the same area.
The team also found Rs 7 lakh in cash, around 60 tulas of gold ornaments valued at roughly Rs 5 lakh, a Maruti Vitara Brezza car worth about Rs 6.5 lakh, and household items and electronic gadgets estimated at Rs 10 lakh.
The Rs 2.28 crore figure is a preliminary estimate. The ACB said the market value of the properties could be well above their official valuation and that searches to identify additional assets are ongoing.
The inspector’s arrest followed an ACB operation on September 16, 2026, when he was caught demanding Rs 8 lakh and accepting Rs 5 lakh through his subordinate, Sub-Inspector D. Gnanender Reddy, in exchange for an official favour. Anjaneyulu was arrested on September 17 and produced before the ACB court. He is currently lodged in Chanchalguda Central Prison.
He will be produced before the court on a prisoner-in-transit warrant. The bureau said the investigation is ongoing.
The SHO had a notorious reputation for corruption in the Keesara region. People in the area celebrated with firecrackers outside the police station following his arrest in September.
