MLC elections: BJP candidate Malka Komraiah wins Karimnagar-Adilabad-Nizamabad Teachers’ constituency

Following the victory of Komaraiah, BJP leader and Union Minister of State Bandi Sanjay said it was a testament to the faith educators have in BJP and Modi's vision for the future.

Synopsis: ECI announced the results of elections held for two MLC seats in Telangana and one in Andhra Pradesh. The results for one seat in Telangana and two in Andhra Pradesh are pending. BJP candidate Malka Komraiah was elected to the Telangana Legislative Council from the Karimnagar-Adilabad-Nizamabad Teachers’ Constituency.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Monday, 3 March, announced that BJP candidate Malka Komraiah was elected to the Telangana Legislative Council from the Karimnagar-Adilabad-Nizamabad Teachers’ Constituency.

Progressive Recognised Teacher’s Union Telangana State (PRTUTS) candidate Pingali Sripal Reddy was elected from the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Teachers’ Constituency.

Meanwhile, Gade Srinivasulu Naidu of the Progressive Recognised Teachers’ Union was elected from the North Coastal Andhra Pradesh Teacher’s Constituency.

Following the victory of Komaraiah, BJP leader and Union Minister of State Bandi Sanjay said it was a testament to the faith educators have in BJP and Modi’s vision for the future.

“With deepest gratitude, we dedicate this victory in the Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar Teacher MLC election to the incredible teachers who stood by us and Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodi ji. To every @BJP4Telangana karyakarta who braved lathis, who fought for 317 GO with unwavering resolve—this win is yours too,” he wrote on X.

“Many Congratulations to Shri @MalkaKomaraiah garu for this win. This victory is a testament to the faith educators have in BJP and in Modi ji’s vision for the future. Thank you, teachers! This is just the beginning. BRS & Congress, take note – the people have spoken!” he added.

Pending results

The result for the graduate constituency of Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar has not yet been declared.

Congress and BJP are locked in a direct fight in this constituency, which is currently represented by senior Congress leader and former minister T Jeevan Reddy.

In Telangana, voting took place for two teachers’ constituencies and one graduates’ constituency.

In Andhra Pradesh, voting was held for the East-West Godavari graduates’ constituency, Krishna-Guntur graduates’ constituency, and North Andhra teachers’ constituency.

Polling for three MLC seats each in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh concluded on 27 February. In both states, the principal opposition parties – BRS in Telangana and YSRCP and Congress in Andhra Pradesh – stayed away from the elections.
