Synopsis: The mix of youth and veterans is apparently designed for dynamism. Newcomers are expected to drive digital campaigns and booth-level activism. Senior hands like Subhash will steer media messaging. Insiders see this as a long-term plan. After modest gains in the 2023 Assembly polls (eight MLAs) but a better Lok Sabha tally (eight MPs), the BJP wants efficiency over size. Hence, a leaner 22-member team.
The Telangana BJP has announced a new 22-member state executive committee. The move comes under state president N Ramchander Rao, who took charge in July.
The new executive has a fair sprinkling of youth, experience, and a delicate balance of social representation.
The new executive: Vice Presidents (8): Banda Karthika Reddy (former mayor), Boora Narsaiah Goud (ex-MP, BC leader), Kasam Venkateswarlu Yadav (senior leader, Yadav community), Bhandari Shanthi Kumar, M Jayasree, Kolli Madhavi, Jaruplavath Gopi (Kalyan Naik, ST representation), Raghunath Rao.
General secretaries (3): N Goutham Rao (city leader), T Veerender Goud (son of ex-TDP minister), Vemula Ashok (former SC Morcha head).
Secretaries (8): O Srinivas Reddy, Koppu Basha (Muslim face), Bharat Prasad, Bandaru Vijayalakshmi, Sravanthi Reddy, Karanam Parinitha, Baddam Mahipal Reddy, Tutupalli Ravi Kumar.
Chief spokesperson: NV Subhash
Treasurer: Devki Vasudev
Joint treasurer: Vijay Surana Jain (Jain face)
Seven morcha presidents will handle outreach. They include Mekala Shilpa Reddy (Mahila), Ganesh Kunde (Yuva), Baswapuram Laxminarasaiah (Kisan), Kanthi Kiran (SC), Nenavath Ravi Naik (ST), Gandamalla Anand Goud (OBC), and Sardar Jagmohan Singh (Minority).
The composition reflects social engineering. 12 are newcomers, signaling youth infusion. Veerender Goud and Ganesh Kunde are expected to connect with young voters. 10 veterans, like Boora Narsaiah Goud and Kasam Venkateswarlu Yadav, bring stability.
Backward Classes got seven slots. Women secured six positions—about 27 percent—with key roles for Banda Karthika Reddy and Kolli Madhavi.
The team also has regional balance. N Goutham Rao represents urban Hyderabad. Jaruplavath Gopi brings tribal presence. Koppu Basha strengthens minority outreach.
The Morcha appointments target women, youth, farmers, SCs, STs, OBCs, and minorities—crucial segments in Telangana politics.
Rao’s reboot comes at a strategic moment. Congress is pushing hard for BC reservations and accusing the BJP of being “anti-BC.” With its tilt toward BC leaders—Gouds and Yadavs—the BJP hopes to blunt this narrative.
The mix of youth and veterans is apparently designed for dynamism.

Telangana’s politics is volatile. BJP wants to ride the anti-incumbency wave against Congress while keeping the BRS in check. With Delhi watching the southern expansion closely, this new team is both a test and a gamble.
