The family of a missing 17-year-old boy, a resident of Kamalapuri Colony in Hyderabad, has penned a heartfelt plea on social media, urging the teen to return home.
Written on Saturday, 27 January, the message conveyed their deep love for the teenager, emphasising that their love for him surpasses the entire world.
The young boy, Jayesh Kanodia, has been missing since 17 January, prompting his family to file a complaint with the Jubilee Hills Police.
According to the family, he left home on the pretext of collecting his eye-test reports from Challa Eye Care Centre near Srinagar Colony but never returned.
As night fell, concern escalated, leading the family to contact the police. Together, they traced the electric vehicle the boy had been using to Big Bazaar in Ameerpet. After locating his vehicle, they found his mobile phone inside, however, the keys were missing.
The police and the family have since initiated a search for the teenager. With 10 days passing without any leads, they have turned to social media in a collaborative effort to locate the missing minor.

“Since 17 January, the boy has not returned home and has not been answering calls. His vehicle was found at Big Bazaar, Ameerpet. We found his mobile phone ringing inside the vehicle’s storage compartment. On his mobile, we found that he had booked tickets for Shirdi, Maharashtra, three days ago,” Shailesh Kanodia, the boy’s father, told South First,
The Jubilee Hills Police revealed that a team, accompanied by the family, has gone to Shirdi. With the help of the Maharashtra police, they checked CCTV footage and found the teenager walking out of Shirdi.
After an exhaustive search, the family returned to Hyderabad only to find the boy’s electric vehicle missing from its location on 22 January.
As the police continued their investigation and scrutinised CCTV footage, it was revealed that the minor had returned to Hyderabad and driven his vehicle to Secunderabad Railway Station. The vehicle was found parked at the station.
Subsequently, he was seen on one of the platforms in Secunderabad, leading police officers to suspect that he might have boarded the Rajkot Express — that goes from Secunderabad to Rajkot in Gujarat.
Suspecting that the boy has been kidnapped, the Jubilee Hills police have registered a case under section 363 of the IPC.
The family and police have taken to X, previously Twitter, and Instagram to find the boy.
The efforts to find the teenager, a Class 12 student of Delhi Public School in Hyderabad, have found the support of netizens.
An Instagram account, @find-jayesh, has been created, and the Jubilee Hills Police are also actively providing updates. The family is also utilising WhatsApp to implore everyone they know to share information.
