In a landmark political event, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge will interact with village-level Congress leaders for the first time, with Telangana chosen to host the inaugural gathering. The public meeting is set to take place at Hyderabad’s LB Stadium on Friday, 4 July.
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has called on all Congress ministers, MPs, MLAs, and party functionaries — from district heads to village unit presidents — to ensure a strong turnout and smooth coordination. The deputy chief minister reviewed preparations alongside Telangana Congress in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan, state unit President Mahesh Kumar Goud, and senior ministers Ponnam Prabhakar, Duddilla Sridhar Babu, and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy.
“This is a unique opportunity for Telangana Congress leaders at the grassroots to directly engage with the AICC President,” Bhatti said, urging all leaders to arrive by 3 pm on Friday. He added that Telangana’s role in launching this initiative reflects its significance within the party.
The meeting is expected to energise the Congress cadre ahead of future electoral battles, with similar interactions likely to be replicated across the country based on Telangana’s model.
