As counting of votes for Telangana Assembly elections 2023 draws to an end, BRS has conceded to Congress party that is firmly ahead.
BRS Chief K Chandrashekar Rao tendered his resignation to Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan on Sunday paving the way for Congress to form the government.
In the 119- seat Assembly of Telangana, the simple majority stands at 60 and Congress has won or is leading in 64 seats.
After polling day on 30 November, the South First–Peoples Pulse Exit Poll had predicted a clear majority for Congress with 62 to 72 seats, while the BRS was projected to win 35 to 46 seats. The results are in line with this projection.
