The crisis in BRS in the Medchal-Malkajgiri district has blown over after the Telangana Labour Minister Chemakura Malla Reddy on Tuesday, 20 December, described the displeasure voiced against him by five MLAs in the district as a very minor problem.

“We are all one family, It is normal that sometimes there might be some problems here and there. The elders in our family would resolve them,” Malla Reddy said

Reddy said he and the MLAs in the district moved like brothers.

“This is a family problem. Please do not blow it out of proportion,” he requested the media.

The minister was reacting to the five MLAs in his district who, on Monday, made serious allegations against him that he was knocking away all nominated posts to his constituency of Medchal, leaving nothing for the other MLAs.

They were unhappy over the way Malla Reddy was acting and had advised him to act as a minister for the entire district and not for his constituency of Medchal.

The MLAs who raised their voice against the minister were Bethi Subhash Reddy (Uppal), Madhvaram Krishna Rao (Kukatpalli) Arikapudi Gandhi (Serilingampalli) and VK Vivekananda (Kuthbullapur), and Malkajgiri MLA Mynapati Hanumantah Rao.

Apparently, under instructions from Pragati Bhavan, Malla Reddy sought to make amends with the legislators and wanted them to realise that it was KCR and KTR who made the appointments to nominated posts and that he had no role in it.

He said that he had no differences with any of the MLAs and that he would personally visit each one of them and try to remove any irritants that existed but he may have not noticed.

Malla Reddy claimed that he did not like trouble or any friction with anyone as he is essentially a Gandhian.

“I am a Gandhian. I do not go for confrontation with anyone. It is not my nature,” he said in an informal interaction with media persons.
