Businessman Raj Pakala booked after police raid on farmhouse
Businessman Raj Pakala has been booked by Narsingi Police following a raid on his farmhouse in Janwada during the night of 26-27 October. The operation was conducted in conjunction with officials from the Special Operations Team (SOT) and the Excise Department, based on a tip-off.
According to police reports, the party at the farmhouse included 21 men and 14 women, where liquor was served without the necessary permits from the public excise department. Authorities seized seven unauthorised bottles of foreign liquor totalling 10.5 liters, along with 10 bottles of Indian-made liquor.
During the raid, police suspected drug use and tested male attendees with drug kits. One individual, identified as Vijay Madduri, tested positive for cocaine. He was subsequently sent to the hospital for a confirmatory blood test, and a case has been registered under Section 27 of the NDPS Act at Mokila police station.
Further investigation revealed that Raj Pakala, who is the brother-in-law of KTR, hosted the party without an excise license. Due to the illegal possession of alcohol, he faces charges under Sections 34 A and 34 (1) in conjunction with Section 9 of the Excise Act, as documented by the State Excise Task Force.
Member of Legislative Council, Balmoori Venkat said,” Our Chief Minister Revanth Reddy wants to make the state drug free. Some big leaders are taking drugs and attending those parties.”
“There are reports that there are big boys in the areas where the raid took place yesterday. The details of all those who attended this party should be given. Bandi Sanjay should remember that our government is cracking down on drugs,” he said.
Demanding an in-depth investigation into the incident,MP Anil Kumar Yadav reacted, saying, “Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is working tirelessly to make the state a drug-free state. KTR’s brother-in-law Raj Pakala threw a party in his own farm house with drugs and foreign media. This is encouraging the drug mafia in the state.”
“No matter how big people are in this drugs party, they should be punished severely. CM Revanth Reddy is taking many steps to keep the youth away from drugs and get better with a better future. Youth should think about this matter and decide whose side they will be on,” he said.
Union Minister of State for Home Affairs and Karimnagar BJP MP, Bandi Sanjay Kumar said, “There have been reports about a rave party at a farmhouse. I demand the government to take serious action against the guilty. Previously the BRS party protected KCR’s family members from these cases, but the Congress government must remember that the public will retaliate if that is the case again.”
“We have received information that the main people that supplied the drugs were also at the party. The BJP demands that there is a serious investigation into this. The CCTV footage must be obtained and the passports of everyone involved must be seized,” he said.
BRS MLA KP Vivekananda commented on the raids, stating that Revanth Reddy seems to be suffering from a “KTR syndrome and KTR phobia.”
“It was merely a gathering to celebrate a new home, attended by people of all ages, including Raj Pakala’s mother. Who doesn’t have drinks at home? Doesn’t Revanth have them at his? How did the police conduct the raid without a warrant or prior notice? This is just a ploy by the ‘RS Brothers’—Revanth and Sanjay,” he remarked.
Sources indicate that Arya Vaishya Corporation Chairman, TPCC Spokesperson Kalva Sujatha and women’s representatives will file a complaint with the Commissioner at Cyberabad Police Station, demanding an in-depth investigation into the drug party in the farm house.
