Exuding confidence that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao would score a hattrick in the Telangana Assembly elections in December this year, the state’s IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao on Saturday, 17 June, called upon the party workers to be ready for the electoral battle.

He was addressing a public meeting on the occasion of the ground-breaking ceremony of Youngone Corporation at Kakatiya Mega Textile Park in the Warangal district.

Youngone proposes to establish its units with an investment of ₹900 crore in the textile park spread over Geesukonda and Sangem mandals.

Rooting for BRS’s return

KTR said on Saturday that there was no doubt that the BRS would romp home with a massive majority.

He took the opportunity to urge party workers to counter the Opposition parties’ criticism of the BRS government effectively so that the people would have the right perspective on the governance in the state.

On the occasion, the minister praised Parakala MLA Challa Dharma Reddy for his efforts in acquiring land for the establishment of India’s largest textile park.

He said that Dharma Reddy was an unquestioned leader in Parakala and the Opposition parties did not have candidates to field against him.

“I hope that he would be sent to the Assembly again with a massive majority,” he said.

Jobs at the textile park

The minister said that the textile park would restore Warangal to its past grandeur.

The construction of the park was delayed because of the Covid-19 pandemic, but it was now in place, he said.

He added that 99 percent of jobs that would be created by Youngone at this park would go only to the local youth.

He added that he hoped the textiles made in the park would be exported to different parts of the world. “We have the best workers and they produce quality products,” he stated.

The minister pointed out that Telangana was not only famous for black gold (coal) but also for white gold (cotton).

“The cotton that we produce in the state is of the best quality in the entire country. In Warangal, the quality of cotton has no parallel,” he said.

KTR added that there was already a company — Ganesha — that had set up its plant and created employment for 1,000 youth at the textile park. He said, “Made in India will become Made in Parkala.”
