The parties which are leaving the INDIA bloc should come together for a concerted fight against the BJP, he said.

BRS Working President KT Rama Rao, or KTR, on Saturday, 27 January, declared that the Congress was incapable of fighting the BJP — and predicted the disintegration of the Opposition INDIA bloc.
Addressing party workers at the Jubilee Hills Assembly segment workers’ meeting in Hyderabad, he said the INDIA bloc partners were leaving the Congress’ company one after the other, saying that it was very difficult for them to work with an arrogant partner like the grand old party.
Finally, no one would be left in the INDIA bloc except Rahul Gandhi, he said.
KTR said: “The India bloc is falling apart. First, it was AAP (Aam Aadmi Party) which left the Congress company. Later (West Bengal Chief Minister) Mamata Banerjee called it quits. (Chief Minister) Nitish Kumar in Bihar is also pulling out. The CPI(M) in Kerala is also very unhappy with the Congress.”
“These developments indicate how difficult it is for any Opposition party to work with the Congress,” he noted.
The BRS working president said that only regional parties like BRS in Telangana and others elsewhere can fight the BJP, and not a national party like the Congress.
The parties which are leaving the INDIA bloc should come together for a concerted fight against the BJP, he said.
KTR said the Congress had given up the battle with the BJP in states like Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan.
He appealed to people in Telangana to support BRS leader and former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao, or KCR, just as the way people in Punjab, West Bengal, and Bihar were backing AAP, Mamata Banerjee, and Nitish Kumar, respectively.
“It is only the regional parties that could cut the BJP down to size,” he pointed out.
He said the people should bear in mind that in the recent Assembly elections, it was the BRS and not the Congress which had defeated BJP leaders like Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Dharamapuri Arvind, Soyam Bapu Rao, Eatala Rajender, and M Raghunandan Rao.
“It is only the BRS that can voice the problems of the state in the Lok Sabha,” he said.

KTR alleged that the Congress and the BJP have come to a secret understanding to help each other out in the Lok Sabha polls.
“The Congress has consented to field dummy candidates to help the BJP win several seats. If any one votes for the Congress, it is as good as voting for the BJP,” he said in an attempt to wean away Muslim minority votes from the grand old party.
He said that the “fevicol” relationship between the two parties became all too evident after the Election Commission of India (ECI) issued a notification declaring separate elections for filling the two vacancies in the Telangana Legislative Council to benefit the Congress after Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy called on Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan — a former BJP state unit chief in Tamil Nadu — also favoured the Congress government by readily accepting its proposal to fill the two vacancies in the Legislative Council under the Governor’s quota.
“The same Governor rejected the names sent by the previous BRS government on the pretext that they had political affiliations,” he said.

He said the Congress was unreliable as it always finds reasons to avoid fulfilling its promises to the people.
“The Congress is known for biting the hand that feeds it,” he said, and demanded that the party should immediately implement its promise of paying ₹2,500 per month to every housewife in the state.
Turning to the BJP, he said Union Minister G Kishan Reddy — also the Telangana unit chief of the saffron party — had had no right to seek votes in this election.
“He could win from Secunderabad in the last Lok Sabha elections due to the sympathy for losing the Assembly election from Amberpet in 2018. I want to know what he has done for Secunderabad during the last five years. Did he get any important project for the state?” he asked.
