BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Thursday, 7 March, gave it back to Chief Minister and Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee A Revanth Reddy for his outbursts on Wednesday against the pink party in Mahabubnagar.

He was speaking at a meeting of party workers at Sircilla, which is a part of Karimnagar Lok Sabah constituency, ahead of the 12 March 12 public meeting to be addressed by his father, BRS president K Chandrashekar Rao in Karimnagar town.

The BRS working president said it amused him to see the chief minister shouting at the top of his voice in Mahabubangar.

He was reacting to the chief minister’s stinging remarks against the BRS party. The chief minister had said the BRS and the BJP workers tried to pull down his government, and that the Congress workers would trample them, pull out their entrails, and hang them around their necks for their efforts.

He had also said that the party workers would explode like human bombs and rise like sparks of the fire to see the end of those who might try to destabilise his government.

‘He seems frustrated’

Cut to the quick by the wasp-sting-like remarks, the BRS leader said he did not know why Revanth Reddy was getting so worked up.

“Let him control his blood pressure. He seems frustrated. No one from the BRS is going to pull down the Congress government. We want him to last his full five-year term. But, Revanth Reddy should watch out for the human bombs that are around him. There is one such bomb with him from Khammam and another from Nalgonda,” he said.

He also tried to make fun of Revanth Reddy’s comments that he always carried a pair of scissors in his pocket to cut the tails of the BRS leaders who might resort to mischief.

The BRS leader said that everyone knew who carried a pair of scissors in their pocket. “What is surprising is that a chief minister is carrying a pair of scissors. Will politicians and chief ministers carry such instruments?” he asked.

The BRS leader, however, said that his party would not spare the Congress if it went back on its “420 promises” made to the people.

“We will hunt you down till you deliver on your promises. We will not let you be,” the BRS leader said.

KTR said that the party in power in the state was not the Indian National Congress but Revanth Reddy’s version of it.

“Make no mistake about it: Revanth Reddy will be the first person to transform into another Eknath Shinde by splitting the Congress with the help of the BJP,” he warned.

He said if one had observed what Revanth Reddy said while sharing the dais with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Adilabad recently, one would know for sure that they were together.

The chief minister not only called Narendra Modi his elder brother but also urged him to bless the state in the future.

“This means that the Congress chief minister thinks that Narendra Modi will become the prime minister while the Congress is fighting him at the national level,” claimed KTR.

“What is the point in voting for the Congress when a Congress chief minister himself is saying that Modi is going to win the election for the third time?” he asked.

On guarantees and Medigadda

KTR also dared the chief minister to waive crop loans up to ₹2 lakh, which he had promised, and pay ₹2,500 to housewives every month.

“Winning an election does not make you a man. But keeping the promises, does,” he said, adding that that two madcaps — Revanth Reddy and BJP leader Bandi Sanjay Kumar — were making a mountain out of a molehill when it came to the sinking of three piers of the Medigadda barrage.

“They should know that Medigadda has 86 piers, of which only three have sunk. Medigadda is only one part of an elaborate multi-stage Kaleshwaram Project,” he said.

KTR also alleged that the current government was not undertaking repairs deliberately with the sole intention of not providing water to farmers for irrigation purposes.

He also ridiculed Revanth Reddy for blaming nature for the drought that is prevailing in the state now.

“However, the fact is that the state received more-than-normal rainfall in 2023-24 and it is because of the state government’s ineptitude that there is no water in reservoirs in the state,” the BRS leader said.
