KCR will be chief minister of Telangana for the third time, said KTR, and asked the Opposition parties who their CM candidates were.

IT and Industry Minister KT Rama Rao on Tuesday, 12 September, exuded confidence that the BRS would get not less than 90 seats in the upcoming Assembly elections in Telangana.
Speaking to media persons informally at Pragati Bhavan in Hyderabad, he said: “We are going to see KCR (K Chandrashekar Rao) becoming the chief minister of the state for the third time.”
He said that the party was confident of sweeping the polls as reports from the ground indicate a surge in support for KCR and the BRS.
“People believe that the state needs a leader like KCR. The people are very clear, only the Opposition parties are not,” he said, adding that KCR and BRS are the “Sri Rama Raksha” for Telangana and its people.
He said that “one nation, one election” move was a cheap tactic of the BJP-led Union government to divert people’s attention from pertinent issues and mask their failures.
He also said that it would not make much difference to the BRS if there were simultaneous elections to the Assembly and Lok Sabha, as the party is always battle-ready.
He said that a clear picture would emerge once the special session of Parliament, beginning September 18, concludes.
KTR said that the BRS was not worried about the Opposition parties as they would have to fight among themselves for second place in the polls. The Opposition parties’ hopes crashed when sitting MLAs, who were denied tickets, did not approach them as they expected, he said.
KTR, who is also BRS working president, said that Telangana does not suffer from political instability as governments in other states do.
“We are saying confidently that our chief minister candidate is KCR. Can the Opposition parties declare their chief minister candidates as confidently,” he asked.
He said that the Congress was known for triggering communal clashes to effect change of chief ministers in erstwhile Andhra Pradesh. It was Congress party workers who threw footwear at their own leaders like PV Narasimha Rao.
The two national parties operating in Telangana are “slaves” to their leaders in Delhi, he charged. Telangana people, who value self-respect, hate to be subservient to leaders of other states. They prefer Telangana leaders and not those in Delhi, he said.
He said it was unfortunate that KVP Ramachandra Rao and YS Sharmila are portraying themselves as Telangana leaders.
The two leaders, who opposed the creation of Telangana, are now saying that they would restore the past glory to the Congress. The Congress has descended such despicable depths that it has to depend on non-Telangana leaders to fight the elections, KTR noted.
Though BJP state president G Kishan Reddy and Congress president A Revanth Reddy are from Telangana, they are against the people.
Kishan Reddy did not resign as MLA to prove his credentials when the Telangana movement was at its zenith. Revanth Reddy once took his revolver with the intent to shoot those who were fighting for Telangana state, KTR said.
It is disconcerting to watch all those who were opposed to Telangana — such as former chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, Ramachandra Rao, and Sharmila — come together to approach the people in a different avatar.
The people should be careful about their designs he said, adding that voters must make an informed decision while choosing between the BRS and the forces inimical to Telangana.
“Did any Congress leader take part in the Telangana movement at any point of time? Did any of them resign from the Assembly? The end for Congress has begun. We got Telangana after forcing the national leadership into acquiescing to the demand.
“How can the Congress say it was Sonia Gandhi who gifted us Telangana? How ridiculous would it look if the UK prime minister says that it was UK that gifted independence to India?” he asked.
He advised the people to understand that there was a nexus between the Congress and the BJP.
That is the reason why neither the Congress nor the BJP criticise each other, he contended. The ED has not raided any leader of the Congress, and this is proof enough that the two parties are working hand in glove, he added.
