KTR blasts Bandi Sanjay

Taking serious exception to BJP national general secretary Bandi Sanjay Kumar using abusive language against Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, BRS working president KT Rama Rao asked the Lok Sabha Speaker what action would be taken against the BJP MP from Karimnagar.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, 11 August, Rama Rao, who is also the IT and Industries Minister of Telangana, said that the Speaker had disqualified an MP — implying Congress MP Rahul Gandhi — for making objectionable comments on the prime minister.

‘Let the Speaker decide’

“Now a BJP MP from Telangana goes to great lengths and denigrates Telangana’s twice-elected popular CM KCR in the filthiest language in Lok Sabha yesterday,” Rama Rao wrote.

Let the Speaker say what should be done with Bandi Sanjay Kumar, he added.

Hitting out at the Congress and the ruling BRS in Telangana, Sanjay Kumar on Thursday called the party “Bhrashtachar Rakshasa Samithi” (a party of corrupt people and demons).

Bandi Sanjay came down heavily on KCR in Lok Sabha, saying that he was always in a state of intoxication and that he would remain in his palace without meeting anyone, and added that his family amassed wealth.

“The average annual income of a Telangana farmer is only ₹1.12 lakh but KCR’s income from agriculture is shown as ₹1 crore and that of his son as ₹59.85 lakh,” he said.

Seeks to ‘debunk’ the claim of power supply

Bandi Sanjay also sought to “debunk” the claim of the BRS government that it was supplying power to the farm sector around the clock.

He said it was nothing but misleading the House. And in emotional rhetoric, he said he would resign if the government proved that it was supplying power 24/7. He dared the BRS government if it was ready to quit if it could not prove its claim.

In a quick riposte to Bandi Sanjay’s claim, BRS MLC K Kavitha dared the BJP leader to fly down to Telangana and touch the power cables to know if power was flowing in them or not.

She said Bandi Sanjay, who is an MP, should know what to talk about and that she was leaving it to his wisdom whether such foul language could be used against the chief minister and the state government.
