Synopsis: BRS MLA Kotha Prabhakar Reddy showered Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy with praises after the latter ordered the allocation of 50 acres of land for the construction of a skill university.
BRS MLA Kotha Prabhakar Reddy, who represents the Dubbak Assembly constituency, showered Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy in a confetti of praise for his magnanimity and commitment to development.
His eulogy came at a time when his party leadership is going hammer and tongs at the chief minister, who has become its arch-rival after he yanked power off from the regional party in the 2023 Assembly elections.
Former BRS minister T Harish Rao happens to be Prabhakar Reddy’s mentor, guide and philosopher and he is considered very faithful to BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao. However, Prabhakar Reddy appears to be seeing an aura of divinity around Revanth Reddy.
When Prabhakar Reddy met the chief minister with requests for a skill university, integrated school, and special funds for the constituency, eyebrows rose but not very high, as he is considered very loyal to former chief minister Chandrashekar Rao.
The BRS watchers felt that he probably had met the chief minister only to highlight the development of his constituency. They were reluctant to consider the meeting as the ready-made cover commonly used by those who want to join a ruling party to hide their real intentions. Some kind of chehre pe chehra (open, unfiltered exchange).
After the meeting, the chief minister spoke to the officials and asked them to allot 50 acres of land for the construction of a skill university (probably an affiliate campus) to the main Young India Skills University coming up at Muchintal near Hyderabad.
Then came the denouement. The Dubbak MLA, while visiting his constituency recently, not only sang paeans to the chief minister but also expressed his disgust over the lack of development of his constituency even though the BRS (to which he belongs) was in power for a decade. Was his meeting with the chief minister only for the university and school, or is there more than meets the eye?
