Union Tourism Minister and Telangana BJP president G Kishan Reddy on Friday, 15 December, made it clear that the party would go it alone in the Lok Sabha elections in the state.

Addressing a state-level office-bearers’ meeting in Hyderabad, he said: “There have been news reports suggesting that the BJP would have a truck with the BRS.”

He added: “I want to make it clear that nothing of the sort is in the works. We are going it alone. We will be fighting with Congress as much as we are going to fight with the BRS.”

‘Get cracking’

The BJP leader said that the current situation was very conducive to the growth of the saffron party in the state.

He also pointed out that the results in the Lok Sabha elections in Telangana as well as at the national level would be beyond the estimates of survey reports.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to score a hattrick. The BJP will win more seats in this Lok Sabha elections than last time,” said Kishan Reddy.

The Telangana BJP president asked the leaders of the party to prepare for the Lok Sabha elections in right earnest.

“Shake off lethargy and get cracking. Don’t yield to the temptation that you need rest since the assembly elections were over only recently,” he said.

Stress on Viksit Bharat

Kishan Reddy said the BJP — at the national level — was quite serious about the Lok Sabha elections,

He added that its national president JP Nadda would be in Hyderabad towards the end of this month to guide and mentor workers on how to forge ahead in facing the elections and achieve results.

He explained the objectives of the Central government’s Viksit Bharat and asked the party cadres to make the most of it.

He stressed the need to take into the midst of the people the Central government’s various welfare programmes and asked them to begin campaigning for Viksit Bharat from Saturday.

He also said BJP legislators would fan out in the state to take part in the Viksit Bharat programme.
