Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) president and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had no moral right to live in this country, Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar said here on Thursday, 26 January.

The BJP leader claimed KCR had failed to uphold democracy and insulted the Constitution, judiciary, and the national flag.

Addressing party functionaries at the Telangana BJP headquarters after unfurling the Tricolour on the occasion of Republic Day celebrations, Sanjay said the chief minister humiliated BR Ambedkar by not organising Republic Day celebrations at the Secunderabad Parade Grounds despite directions from the Telangana High Court.

Accusing KCR of repeatedly insulting a woman Governor, the Telangana BJP president wondered how much this spoke of the respect the BRS leadership had towards women.

“He has been inviting the chief ministers of other states to prop up his BRS, but does he have the guts to ask them not to invite the Governors of their respective states to Republic Day celebrations?” asked Sanjay.

He asked the people to decide whether they wanted a Constitution drafted by BR Ambedkar, which makes the nation hold its head high, or the “Kalvakuntla Constitution”, which made everybody bow their heads.

The oblique reference was to KCR and his family: His daughter is an MLC, and his son KT Rama Rao is a minister in his Cabinet.

Sanjay said the BJP would strive for a democratic Telangana with the spirit of Ambedkar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Several senior leaders of the BJP attended the R-Day celebrations at the BJP State party office.

At a separate meeting with the leaders of BJP Mahila Morcha, Sanjay advised them to study the best women’s welfare schemes being implemented in Gujarat and other states, so that the saffron party could adopt them after coming to power in the upcoming Assembly elections.

He asked the cadre to visit people at the grass-root levels to know the problems being faced by the people.

The information collected from that level would help the party prepare a manifesto that would fulfil the aspirations of the people, he said.
