Union Tourism Minister and Telangana BJP chief G Kishan Reddy, on Tuesday, 7 November, said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao constructed the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project only for his farmhouse in Erravalli.

He was speaking during a rally organised by BJP MLA Eatala Rajender, who is contesting the upcoming Assembly elections from the Gajwel constituency, which is KCR’s pocket borough.

During his address, Reddy said that the water from the project was going to the chief minister’s farmhouse.

‘Kalvakuntla family has become corrupt’

“Telangana, carved out after several sacrifices made by the youth, is suffering because of the family of Chandrashekar Rao,” he said.

Reddy alleged that the family, which earned crores by looting people, was again trying to come back to power and purchase land and buildings. “The Kalvakuntla family has become corrupt,” he alleged.

Stating that KCR won’t meet people at his farmhouse, Kishan Reddy said that the BRS chief fled to Kamareddy to contest the Assembly election after Rajender decided to contest from Gajwel.

He assured the people that KCR would suffer a defeat in Kamareddy as well.

“Chandrashekar Rao continued to stay away from attending the celestial wedding of Lord Sri Rama and Sita Devi in Bhadrachalam, but attended parties (dhavath) hosted by the Majlis party,” he said, referring to the AIMIM.

Alleging Congress-BRS tie-up

Stating that the Congress and the BRS were the same, Kishan Reddy said that it was the Congress MLAs and MLCs who joined the BRS earlier. He added that the BJP was an alternative to the BRS.

“The BJP has not made any alliance with the BRS so far, and we will not make any such alliance in the future as well,” he stated.

He said that the Congress formed alliances in several elections earlier, and that there were instances where the BRS’ elected representatives got ministerial posts in New Delhi and in the state.
