Justice Alok Aradhe sworn in as Chief Justice of Telangana High Court

Justice Alok Aradhe succeeds Justice Ujjal Bhuyan, who has been elevated to the post of judge of the Supreme Court.

Justice Alok Aradhe was on Sunday sworn in as Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court.

Aradhe, who was previously a judge of the Karnataka High Court, was administered the oath of office by Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan at an event held at the Raj Bhavan in Hyderabad.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and some of his Cabinet colleagues were present on the occasion.

Justice Alok Aradhe succeeds Justice Ujjal Bhuyan, who has been elevated to the post of judge of the Supreme Court.

Life and Career

Born on 13 April, 1964, in Raipur, Alok Aradhe enrolled as a lawyer on 12 July, 1988.

He dealt with Civil, Constitutional, Arbitration and Company Matters as a lawyer, and was designated as a senior advocate in 2007.

He practised at the High Court of Madhya Pradesh in Jabalpur.

He revised the 5th and 6th editions of the book, Principles of Administrative Law by MP Jain and SN Jain with Late Hon’ble Chief Justice GP Singh.

Aradhe was a visiting Faculty in the Judicial Officers Training and Research Institute of Madhya Pradesh.

He was appointed as the Additional judge of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh on 29 December, 2009 and Permanent Judge on 15 February, 2011.

Aradhe was transferred to Jammu and Kashmir High Court on 16 September, 2016. He also served as the chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir State Judicial Academy and became the executive chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir State Legal Services Authority.

He was appointed Acting Chief Justice of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court on 11 May, 2018.

Justice Alok Aradhe took oath as Judge of Karnataka High Court on 17 November, 2018. He assumed charge as the Acting Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court on 3 July, 2022 following the retirement of Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi who was the Chief Justice.
