Synopsis: BRS MLC K Kavitha launched a scathing attack on KTR and Harish Rao, accusing them of misleading KCR, encouraging corruption, and sabotaging the party internally. Speaking in Medak, she alleged land scams in RRR project favoring leaders, neglect of farmers and temples, and demanded justice on compensation and jobs. Kavitha warned Telangana Jagruthi would emerge as main Opposition if BRS fails.
BRS MLC and Telangana Jagruthi president K Kavitha launched a blistering attack on senior BRS leaders KT Rama Rao and T Harish Rao on Saturday, 15 November, accusing them of “misleading” party supremo K. Chandrashekar Rao and sabotaging the party from within.
Addressing a press conference during her Janam Baata tour in Medak district, she alleged that both leaders had “tied blindfolds” to KCR and encouraged “anarchy and misrule,” ultimately pushing the BRS down from the the precipice.
Kavitha demanded that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy clarify his “understanding” with Harish Rao, questioning why no action had been taken despite “clear evidence” of corruption.
She said: “Farmers themselves told me how alignments of the RRR project were changed to protect lands belonging to Harish Rao and other BRS leaders,” she said, alleging that 400 acres between Reddypalli, Chippalturthi and Thunki were linked to Harish Rao. “A resort has already come up there; local people are not even allowed to enter,” she added.
She further claimed that alignments were altered to protect 15 acres belonging to minister Gangula Kamalakar and 18 acres owned by another BRS leader Naveen Rao. “If KCR garu knew all this, he would never have allowed it,” she said.
In an extraordinary charge, Kavitha said Harish Rao encouraged BRS workers to “act according to their wish” in the Jubilee Hills by-election. “How can an important leader in a party say: ‘do as you wish’”? Is that not betrayal?” she asked.
She also said KTR and Harish Rao “pat each other’s backs” even for a single successful meeting and pretend as if they carried KCR on their shoulders. “Who are they before KCR? Just toddlers,” she remarked.
She accused Harish Rao’s supporters of misleading people by proclaiming that “without Harish Rao there would be no KCR or Telangana movement.”
Kavitha advised KTR to “quit social media and go into the midst of the people,” accusing him of fighting battles only on X instead of addressing ground realities. “Jagruthi will become a people’s weapon — if BRS doesn’t act like a proper Opposition, we will emerge as the main Opposition,” she declared.
Listing several local issues, Kavitha said Medak—expected to become “the next New York”—has instead been reduced to a district full of unresolved problems:
RRR project: Farmers losing land without fair compensation. She demanded written assurance of Rs 1 crore per acre in three instalments or land-for-land compensation.
Neglect of temples and irrigation: The Yedupayala shrine remains flooded for 60–70 days a year; irrigation works sanctioned for RS 43 crore saw only RS 18 crore spent.
Kavitha alleged that Harish Rao and his wife ran a milk supply business that cornered contracts meant for SC, ST and minority residential schools, bypassing tender norms. “The CM’s PRO tweeted about this in September 2024 — the tweet vanished in four days,” she said.
She accused KTR and Harish Rao of “blindfolding” KCR and promoting corrupt leaders, leading to the party’s downfall. “If KCR comes out again, the situation will change,” she said.
Kavitha vowed to continue visiting every village, forming committees and sustaining protests until farmers and vulnerable communities receive justice.
Shifting the boys’ hostel at Kaudupalli to a safer building
Protection of small farmers affected by RRR
Revival of jobs across police, universities, health, revenue and municipal departments
Opportunities for youth and castes without political representation
Preserving “KCR Colony” name in Pilli Kottala without changes
Ensuring housing for 33 families of Nagsanpalli by February 13
She said Medak’s situation reminded her of “a dried-up lemon,” with minorities, journalists and local workers all reporting injustice. “BRS must make an introspection. If it doesn’t perform as the real Opposition, we will rise as the principal Opposition,” she said.
