Synopsis: The woman had approached Reddy with a complaint against her husband when the officer was in charge of the Ameenpur police circle. He allegedly coerced her into a relationship and used her videos to extort money.
Hyderabad City Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar has transferred Jubilee Hills Police Circle Inspector U Srinivasulu Reddy to the Reserve Police Line over allegations of the officer misbehaving with a woman complainant.
Reddy was transferred after preliminary investigation found substance in the woman’s complaint.
The woman had approached Reddy with a complaint against her husband when the officer was in charge of the Ameenpur police circle.
Reddy allegedly coerced her into an inappropriate relationship. Police said he subsequently used private videos of the woman to extort money from her.
The inquiry further revealed that the officer and the woman lived together in the same house for several days.
Police said any additional steps, including suspension and criminal proceedings, would depend on the outcome of the ongoing investigation.
SHO M Muthu Yadav of Rajendranagar police station has been transferred to Jubilee Hills.
