The decision is taken after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Hyderabad on 19 January to inaugurate several projects is postponed.
The inauguration of the Vande Bharat Express train between Secunderabad and Visakhpatnam via Kazipet and Vijayawada has been put off with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Hyderabad on 19 January having been postponed.
A communication about the postponement of the prime minister’s visit was received at the office of Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy on Wednesday, 11 January.
The Telangana BJP leadership said the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) would inform the new schedule soon.
During his visit to Hyderabad, the prime minister, besides flagging off the much-awaited Vande Bharat Express train — only the second one in South India after the Mysuru-Chennai route — was expected to lay the foundation stone for various projects worth ₹7,076 crore.
Modi is supposed to lay the foundation stone for the development of Secunderabad railway station along with the construction of about 150 km of national highway and for Railway Periodic Overhauling (POH) workshop to be constructed at Kazipet.
After these programmes, the Prime Minister is supposed to take part in a public meeting to be organized at Parade Grounds and address the people.
