I-T sleuths continued raids for the third consecutive day on the premises of two BRS MLAs — Pailla Shekar Reddy and Marri Janardhan Reddy.
Crucial documents and mobile phones that were seized during the raids carried out on the premises of two BRS MLAs, along with an MP, turned out to be crucial for the sleuths of the Income Tax (I-T) Department to know more about the alleged violations in their business transactions.
The I-T Department is primarily focusing on the syndicate created by real-estate businessmen and politicians — mostly from the ruling party — to earn money. It came to know that large cash transactions were carried out with respect to the sale of prime land in LB Nagar.
An agreement made with a real-estate company to start a mega project also came under the scrutiny of the department, along with transactions made by a real-estate businessman with a few BRS leaders.
Meanwhile, the I-T sleuths continued raids for the third consecutive day on the premises of two BRS MLAs — Pailla Shekar Reddy and Marri Janardhan Reddy. In all, 70 teams from the department have been conducting raids since early Wednesday with the assistance of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel.
The department conducted raids at over 50 locations in the state capital, especially in the western part of the city and its suburbs, and seized crucial documents for a detailed verification. The sleuths mainly focused on the gap between the company’s revenues and the I-T returns filed during the financial year.
The department has also verified the bank account details of the two MLAs along with the lockers.
