SHIELD Conclave to kick off in Hyderabad mid-February

Hyderabad is set to host a conclave in mid-February to work on all things cybersecurity. The SHIELD Conclave being held on the 18 and 19 of February is supposed to be a one-of-its-kind event, bringing together cybersecurity enthusiasts from all over.

The Conclave will take place in the Hyderabad International Convention Centre, where there will be talks, discussions, and workshops. The announcement comes in light of Telangana witnessing over 1.2 lakh cybercrime victims in 2024. The spike in numbers stressed the importance of such events where the government, industries, academics, NGOs and other stakeholders can collaborate.

A government-industry collaboration

Four different organisations are organising the event. The Telangana Police, The Telangana Cybersecurity Bureau(TGCSB), the Cyberabad Police and the Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC). Shikha Goel is the DGP of the TGCSB.

“The Conclave will bring together corporate heads to discuss cybercrime across the nation. Anyone can attend it for free as long as they are interested,” she explained. “The first edition of the Conclave will stress Cybersecurity, Cybercrimes, and online crimes against women and children,” she continued.

She added that the conclave would see a massive display of the best tech in the industry. “You will get to see the best tech, AI, robotics, drones and such at the event. Additionally, we’ll also help start-ups present their work at the forum, helping them set up stalls,” she informed.

She also noted that the forum would host special sessions to raise awareness regarding cybersecurity and cybercrime among the students.
