On Monday, 1st April, BJP MLA in Telangana, Raja Singh, criticized AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi for visiting the home of Mukhtar Ansari and expressing condolences over the death of the gangster-politician.
Singh stated that the Hyderabad MP should also visit the family members of those whom Ansari allegedly killed.
In a video release, Singh said Owaisi and other leaders who condoled the demise of Ansari should understand the pain of the family members of those who were allegedly killed by the gangster-politician.
Is it correct for the leaders to stand in support of such a person, he asked.
“Asaduddin Owaisi going to his residence and expressing condolence, is it correct? People should think about it,” Singh, MLA from Goshamahal in Hyderabad, said.
The Goshmahal MLA further said, “I demand the leaders visiting Ansari’s house should also visit the houses of those eight people who Ansari killed.”
Owaisi visited the Ghazipur home of gangster-politician Mukhtar Ansari to offer condolences to his family.
The Hyderabad MP visited Ansari’s house late at night on Sunday, 31 March.
Speaking to the media on Monday, Owaisi said, he visited the family of Mukhtar Ansari to express his condolences.
Further explaining his visit, Owaisi said, “Such a major incident happened, he died in judicial custody, and the state government is responsible for his death. That is why I have come to express my condolences.”

Mukhtar Ansari was laid to rest in Ghazipur on Saturday, 30 March, amid a blanket of security as a large crowd took part in the funeral procession while a few people tried to forcibly enter the burial ground, giving tough time to police personnel trying to maintain order.
The five-time MLA from Mau Sadar had been behind bars in Uttar Pradesh and Punjab since 2005 and had over 60 criminal cases against him. The 63-year-old died on Thursday, 27 March at Rani Durgawati Medical College after being taken there from Banda jail when his health deteriorated.
A post-mortem confirmed that he died of cardiac arrest. However, a magisterial inquiry was ordered as opposition parties raised questions over Ansari’s death, amid allegations by his family that he died due to “slow poisoning” in Banda jail.
