Countdown to 1st Formula E-Prix in India starts with Hyderabad E-Mobility Week

Along with an EV rally and motor show, the event will also showcase the widest collection of electric vehicles, charging infrastructure, and energy storage solutions.

Hyderabad E-mobility week is from 5 February to 11 February ahead of Formula E race.

The much-awaited week is here as India gears up to host its first-ever Formula E race in Hyderabad. Six days to go.

While the mega event is scheduled on 11 February, the Telangana government on Sunday, 5 February, kicked off its flagship event — the Hyderabad E-Mobility Week — to commemorate the race with a different event every day.

The events are expected to culminate with the Formula E race on 11 February.

Mohammad Bin Sulayem, president of the world governing body for four-wheel racing FIA, has been invited to attend the race.

Meanwhile, the first consignment — including eight cars and around 99 tonnes of race-car components — arrived on 2 February at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA).

What is Hyderabad E-mobility week?

The Hyderabad E-Mobility Week is apparently one of the largest global platforms for EV companies and ancillary businesses to showcase their latest technologies, products, and services that will shape the future growing EV ecosystem in the state.

Starting with a bike rally on 5 February, the event is expected to bring together the widest collection of electric vehicles, charging infrastructure, and energy storage solutions.

Several metro trains, TSRTC Pushpak buses, bus shelters, parts of the airport, and other public spaces were also seen spreading the common message of celebrating the move towards e-sustainability.

Hyderabad E-mobility week schedule

February 5: Rall-E Hyderabad — Hyderabad will witness thousands of drivers in a first-of-its-kind EV bike rally as electric two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and four-wheelers to promote electric vehicles (EVs). The rally will be across the city and culminate at the Hitex Exhibition Centre.

February 6: Mobility Next Hyderabad — The Sustainable Mobility Summit at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) in Kondapur will showcase global leaders, eminent academics and policymakers discussing the future of sustainable EV mobility. It will also have panel discussions, keynote speeches, and networking sessions.

February 7 — T-Hub will conduct a Connected, Autonomous, Shared and Electric (CASE) Mobility start-up challenge by supporting the growth of the start-up ecosystem in India. Through this, the start-ups are expected to share innovative, feasible, and scalable solutions for tangible problems prevalent in India.

February 8 and 9: Hyderabad E-Motor — The show is scheduled at the Hitex Exhibition Center and will feature the widest collection of EVs and global manufacturers showcasing two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and four-wheelers. It will also have exclusive launches, events, and innovations in the sector

February 10 and 11: Hyderabad E-Prix — The first-ever Formula E race in India will be held at the Necklace Road Circuit. With this event, Hyderabad will join the prestigious list of E-Prix host cities such as New York, London, Berlin, Seoul, Monaco, and Rome.

Traffic diversions

The Hyderabad Traffic Police on Saturday announced road diversions that would be in effect from Sunday to the end of the E-Prix.

While the restrictions would be partial on Sunday and Monday, they would be fully implemented around the Hussain Sagar lake and the adjoining areas from 7 to 12 February.
