Hyderabad-based T-Hub wins National Technology award for tech-business development

T-Hub is a start-up ecosystem facilitating collaboration between start-ups, venture capital firms, corporates, governments, and academia.

T-Hub won the 2023 National Technology Award in the Technology Business Incubation category.

Telangana’s Technology Hub, popularly known as T-Hub, has won the 2023 National Technology Award in the Technology Business Incubation category.

The awards were presented by the Union government’s Department of Science and Technology on Sunday, 14 May at the closing day of the celebrations marking this year’s National Technology Week.

On 16 January, T-Hub won the “Best Incubator” award at the third edition of the National Startup Awards (NSA) on National Startup Day.

What is T-Hub?

T-Hub, said to be the world’s largest innovation campus, is a start-up ecosystem facilitating collaboration between start-ups, venture capital firms, corporates, governments, and academia.

Its primary objective is to encourage young entrepreneurs to come up with a business idea and then help them convert it into a product or service.

Started in 2015, the facility was launched under a joint partnership between the Telangana government and three Hyderabad-based academic institutions — the International Institute of Information Technology, the Indian School of Business, and the National Academy of Legal Studies and Research.

So far, it claims to have impacted over 2,000 start-ups through several initiatives, provided mentors to help start-ups scale up, and is reported to have over 600 global and national corporate partners.

As per reports, T-Hub startups have raised almost $1.9 billion with over 3,000 strong market connections and the creation of over 12,000 jobs since its inception.

National technology awards

The Union Ministry for Science and Technology presented T-Hub with the award for its outstanding contribution to techno-entrepreneurship development by way of promoting innovative, technology-driven knowledge, and intensive startup enterprises in different technological areas.

The Ministry added that T-Hub is an innovation hub and ecosystem enabler. “Based out of Hyderabad, India, T-Hub leads India’s pioneering innovation ecosystem and is the world’s largest innovation campus,” it said.

Telangana IT Minister for Industries and Information Technology KT Rama Rao congratulated the T-Hub Team.

“Happy & Proud that T Hub has won the National Technology Award -2023 (Technology Business Incubation). Many congratulations to Team T-Hub. T- Hub has been recognised as the Best Technology Incubator in India by the Department Of Science & Technology, Govt of India,” KTR said in a message posted on social media.
