Purpose is to explain to people the welfare schemes introduced by the Centre and highlight failures of the BRS.
BJP National General Secretary and Telangana in-charge Sunil Bansal has asked the party’s state leadership to hold as many as 9,000 street-corner meetings in the coming 60 days.
The purpose is to explain to the people the welfare schemes introduced by the central government and highlight the failures of the BRS government in the state.
He gave instructions to this effect to the state leaders during a two-day meeting at the party office in Nampally, Hyderabad on Wednesday, 11 January.
He interacted with the leaders of the Malkajgiri parliamentary constituency on the first day of the meeting. Bansal will interact with the leaders of the Medak and Bhongir parliamentary constituencies on Thursday.

He asked the leaders to ensure that information related to central government schemes and the BRS government’s failures reaches every house during these meetings, along with the BJP symbol.
Stating that the same strategy was implemented in Uttar Pradesh where the BJP came to power twice, Bansal asked the leaders to start the ground work with immediate effect.
Exuding confidence that the BJP would come to power in the next Assembly elections, Bansal advised the leaders and the BJP cadre to only be with the people.

Talking about the meeting, Telangana BJP General Secretary G Premendar Reddy said a decision was taken to give a fitting reply to the false propaganda made by BRS ministers and MLAs against central government schemes.
Terming the BRS government as “anti-people” and “anti-farmer”, Reddy assured that the BJP would intensify their agitation against the state government for adopting wrong policies.
Source said that Union Home Minister Amit Shah is likely to visit Telangana on 28 January and interact with leaders from the state party unit and Sangh Parivar.
His meeting is primarily aimed at preparing a strategy for the next Assembly elections in Telangana, they said.
