Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy on Monday, 23 January, expressed displeasure over the absence of senior officials of the electricity department during his padayatra in Amberpet to address the problems being faced by the residents.

Unresolved EB issues

While visiting Amberpet division, residents brought to his notice the apathetic attitude of electricity department officials in resolving their problems.

“Where are you? You have to be present when we are visiting residential areas to know the people’s problems. When a local MP is visiting the area, why is it that officials are not present?” asked the angry minister, while speaking to officials over the phone.

He expressed anger over officials for not attending to the problem even after letters were submitted to them.

On noticing heaps of debris piled up on the road and causing inconvenience to residents, he asked authorities to complete the repair work on priority.

Following a request from residents to complete pending works pertaining to a nala at Amberpet and Patel Nagar, the Union minister once again admonished authorities for the incomplete work.

After visiting Amberpet, Vani Nagar, Patel Nagar, Chenna Reddy Nagar, Bapu Nagar, and MCH Colony, he reviewed the progress of various pending works with officials concerned.

At Sanathnagar, Reddy interacted with residents of Purogathi Colony and reviewed various pending works with officials at Bapu Nagar community hall.

Responding to a request from Bapu Nagar residents, he ordered officials to focus on resolving the overflowing drainage problem in the locality.
