Synopsis: Renote AI, developed by Quadric IT, is a smart, reusable notebook that combines sustainability and AI. It converts handwritten notes to digital text using OCR, syncs with the cloud, and offers features like voice-to-text and smart search. At BioAsia 2025, it received positive feedback from professionals and government officials. Renote AI aims to reduce paper waste and enhance productivity sustainably.

In an era where digital transformation is shaping industries, Renote AI, a smart reusable notebook, is redefining the way we take notes.

Developed by Quadric IT, this innovative device combines artificial intelligence with sustainability, offering users a seamless experience of handwritten note digitisation, cloud storage, and AI-powered insights.

At BioAsia 2025, Hyderabad, Renote AI, co-invented by Suman Balabommu, Kesari Sabniveesu, and Raghu Ram Thatavarthy,  captured the attention of key industry leaders and government officials, highlighting its potential impact.

To delve deeper into the origins and vision behind Renote AI, South First spoke with Kesari Sabniveesu, who shared insights into the product’s development, technology, and its broader implications for digital documentation.

Sustainable note-taking

“We started with the idea of creating a reusable notebook, that was different from anything available today,” Sabniveesu explained.

“Initially, it was just about sustainability, but we realised the potential for technology to enhance usability. That’s when we thought about integrating Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to convert handwritten text into digital format and sync it with the cloud. This way, users could store and access their notes effortlessly.”

Renote AI offers advanced handwriting recognition and OCR, seamlessly converting handwritten notes into digital text. With smart cloud sync and cross-platform accessibility, users can access their notes anytime and anywhere.

The voice-to-text feature enables dictation, while smart search ensures easy retrieval of information.

Customisable templates and AI-based note organisation help structure content efficiently.

Designed with sustainability in mind, each page can be erased and reused up to 100 times, significantly reducing paper waste.

Expanding the boundaries of AI integration

Beyond standard note-taking, Renote AI is evolving to incorporate additional functionalities. “We are developing an Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) feature that allows students to complete answer sheets digitally while maintaining the reusability aspect,” Sabniveesu said.

“Traditionally, OMR sheets used in competitive exams are discarded after a single use, contributing to massive paper waste. With our technology, a single sheet can be reused multiple times, making it both cost-effective and environmentally friendly.”

Sabniveesu also highlighted an AI-enabled learning feature. “If a student is preparing for the civil services or IIT exams, the system learns their writing patterns and suggests relevant books or topics to explore further. This deep-learning aspect adds significant value beyond just documentation.”

Security and ethical concerns

With AI integration, concerns about misuse naturally arise. However, Sabniveesu clarified that Renote AI ensures data integrity and prevents unethical practices.

“The notebook and the app are separate. AI assistance is only accessible through the mobile app, and in controlled environments such as exams, mobile usage is restricted. This ensures that our product is used responsibly.”

Among those who visited the Quadric IT stall at BioAsia 2025 were TGSRTC MD Sajjanar, IPS, and Telangana Tourism Development Corporation Limited MD Prakash Reddy, IPS.

Speaking of the feedback, Sabniveesu noted, “Both officials commended the innovative solutions and expressed interest in exploring their potential applications within their respective departments. Additionally, Union Minister of Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy showed keen interest in adopting these technologies within his ministry.”

“Telangana IT Minister, D Sridhar Babu, also spent significant time with the Quadric IT team, engaging in discussions to understand the product and its underlying technology. His involvement further underscores the potential impact of the startup’s innovations in shaping the future of AI-driven solutions,” he added.

Beyond the Reusable Smart Notebook, Quadric IT is showcasing a suite of AI and data-driven solutions tailored for the Bio and Pharma industries.

These innovations are expected to streamline operations, enhance decision-making, and contribute to a greener, more efficient future while ensuring compliance with the strict regulatory requirements of the Pharma sector.

Step towards a greener future

Renote AI stands at the intersection of sustainability and innovation, offering a tangible solution to reduce paper consumption while enhancing productivity.

“Governments worldwide are advocating for eco-friendly initiatives, and our product aligns with this vision,” Sabniveesu concluded. “By minimising paper waste and providing AI-driven enhancements, we are not just improving documentation but also contributing to a smarter, greener future.”

As Quadric IT continues to refine and expand its AI-driven solutions, Renote AI is poised to become an essential tool for professionals, students, and organisations looking to digitise their workflows sustainably.
