A former Andhra Pradesh and Allahabad High Court judge accused two men, including one claiming association with RSS, of cheating his family members of ₹2.5 crore.
The former judge said the con was carried out in the name of collecting money for “electoral bonds for the BJP”.
The resident of Sheikpet in Hyderabad, in his complaint to the Film Nagar police, said the two men were known to his relatives.
“Knowing my background, they took some amounts for the party at the Centre (BJP). They said the money would be used to purchase electoral bonds for the BJP,” he said, adding the total sum amounted to ₹2.5 crore.

Based on his complaint, a case was registered at the Film Nagar Police Station under Sections 406 (criminal breach of trust), and 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code against the two accused — Narendran and his alleged aide Sarath Reddy. South First accessed the FIR copy.
In a recent update, the former judge has conveyed his intention of withdrawing the case to the police.
Confirming the news, a sub-inspector of the Film Nagar Police Station said, “It is true that he wants to withdraw the case now. But the legalities of the withdrawal process are yet to be completed.”
In his complaint, the former judge stated that Narendran deputed his aide Sarath Reddy to collect the amounts. Reddy told them that he worked at a construction company called Atmiya Homes.
“He further stated that out of regard for me and my position as a former judge of the High Court of Hyderabad (erstwhile Andhra Pradesh) and Allahabad, he would get jobs to my grandchildren in the US,” he claimed in the FIR.
He added that his daughters and wife trusted them and sent them various amounts from time to time during 2021, totaling ₹2.5 crore. “It can be verified from the text messages on WhatsApp,” he added.
However, the men did not issue any bonds to the retired judge nor granted any favours to his grandchildren.
The former judge said he had been trying to retrieve the money for two years but in vain.
He said the suspects misappropriated the money from his family. He pointed out that, per the Supreme Court judgment, the collection of electoral bonds was unconstitutional.
He added that he would be revealing the rest of the details and conclusive evidence during the appropriate time of inquiry.
“I spoke with them. It seemed that they didn’t have much idea where the money was. But after I filed the FIR, they are assuring me that they will return the money and are requesting me to withdraw the case,” the former judge told South First.
“Two of my grandsons are unemployed in the US. So they said they have contacts there. I used to keep asking them where the bonds were, but it was of no use. After seeing the Supreme Court judgement on electoral bonds, I got more alert and registered a complaint,” he added.
“During their visits, one of them used to say that he is a member of RSS,” he further said.
Meanwhile, Reddy claimed that he was innocent.
“I am falsely accused in this matter. I have not taken any money nor cheated anyone. It is the matter between the complainant and Narendran,” Reddy told South First.
