Five people arrested by Rachakonda Police for plotting murder of a realtor.

The Rachakonda Police on Tuesday, 2 August, arrested five people from the Jalpally town in the Rangareddy district and thwarted their alleged plans of murdering a Hyderabad-based realtor.

The police claimed that the quintet was planning to murder a property dealer named Farhan near the Wadi-e-Mustafa ward in Jalpally.

The arrested have been identified as Hussain Bin Salah Awalgi (44), Shaik Afroj (32), Mohd Wajid Uddin Siddiqui (30), Shaik Abdul (24), and Shaik Chotu (19).

The police seized five sickles, two knives, a two-wheeler, and two mobile phones from the suspects.

The arrested have been booked under IPC Sections 115 (abetment of an offence) and 120 (B) (accomplice to a criminal conspiracy), and Section 25 (1A) (possession of prohibited arms) of the Arms Act.

“The arrested were produced in court on Wednesday. They have been sent to judicial custody in Cherlapally Jail for 14 days,” Pahadishareef SHO C Venkateshwarlu told South First.

According to the police, Hussain and Afroj were apprehended by cops who grew suspicious of their movement.

“A sickle and two knives were recovered from their possession. The two, during questioning, revealed their nefarious plans,” the police said.

“They told us that they were looking for an opportunity to kill property dealer Farhan. While the rest of their associates were waiting nearby as backup,” the police said.

According to the police, Hussain wanted to kill Farhan because he lodged a police complaint against his sister over a property dispute in Pahadishareef.

The cops added that Hussain hired Afroj and Siddiqui to murder the realtor. The two were promised ₹5 lakh for carrying out the crime.

The police also said Hussain and Afroj are habitual offenders.

The two were arrested in 2019 by the Balapur Police for their involvement in a murder case, and in 2021 for threatening a person with deadly weapons.
